Speculative Hospitality Design
BRIEF:
This brief was to create a concept for a hospitality space on Southbank that is narrative driven, and values experience and novelty to appeal to both locals and tourists alike. Current hospitality trends show that customers seek out new and exciting dining experiences and are looking to connect with others in the process.
This design was inspired by the importance of art, gallery and exhibition spaces on Brisbane's Southbank. The concept, “Culinary Gallery,” is for a hospitality space where the food is the art. There would also be an inbuilt partnership with the TAFE, so the restaurant could act as a place for real-life local service industry students to work and practice. In the venue, the open kitchen is made to be the focus, with guests directed towards it as if they are in a theatre.
